About the championship

Hotelex Cup Chef Championship Staged at Hotelex Shanghai

Organized by Shanghai CMP Sinoexpo International Exhibition Co., Ltd., Hotelex Cup Chef Championship is designed to create a bridge between kitchen equipment manufacturers, food materials suppliers and Chinese and Western chefs, to showcase the science and technology in cooking. The championship will present different regional competitions with first regional competition kicked off in Central China in Wuhan some time ago. The organizer hopes the championship can help to promote the catering equipment for local and international hotels, and to enhance the cooking skills.

The jury is divided into technical judge and taste judge, and they are all the professionals who are the chefs from famous hotels, well-known cooks, trainers, leaders from related associations and sponsors.

The championship gets the full support from the relevant associations. The competition teams were recommended by the associations, which have two contestants and one assistant cook.They are Chinese cooking 'elite' and come from high-star rated hotels or high level catering enterprises. According to the competition rules, the championship is divided into 3 parts: preparation period, cooking period and cleaning period. Each contestant need to make 1 main course (provided by organizer), 1 desert (provided by organizer) and 1 creative dish (prepared by contestant). All the comprehensive award winners of each regional competitions will gather at the grand final competition to fight for the gold, silver and bronze award of comprehensive awards.

Hotelex Cup Chef Championship sponsor enterprise will provide the venue and equipment for pre-practice sessions for the competition teams and offer contestants a chance to master the characteristics of equipment and operating skills. Contestants will explain their cuisine work and share their experiences with different kinds of equipment during the competition, thus help the audience, contestants and sponsors to mutual communicate and understand the way of cooking and using different kind of kitchen equipments and supplies. At the same time, Hotelex Cup Chef Championship is creating a professional platform for sponsor and competition teams through extensive cooperation with the media.

The Star Hotel Chef Party set on the final competition is a good communicating opportunity and also an extension and upgrading of the championship. Organized by Shanghai CMP Sinoexpo International Exhibition Co., Ltd. the party will invite Jing'an Tourism Bureau and International renowned Hotels being present in Shanghai to work together and organize this special event. The winner of the Hotelx Cup Chef Championship will have the opportunity to receive the onsite instructions from the cooking masters from international branded hotels. The chef will communicate with the contestants on how to use the equipment, ingredients, flavorings etc. to share their valuable experience.
