HOTELEX Cup Chef Championship – Central China report

HOTELEX Cup Chef Championship – Central China was organized by Shanghai CMP Sinoexpo International Exhibition Co., Ltd. and co-organized by Hubei Tourism Association. Electrolux sponsored their catering equipment for this championship. Four teams from Ramada Plaza Optics Valley Hotel, Wuhan, Wuchang, Hubei East Lake Hotel, Wuhan Yangtze Hotel and Wuhan Asia Hotel took part in the championship, and each team sent 3 contestants for the competition. The judges panel was composed by the cooking experts and sponsors.

The contestants needed to use the catering equipment sponsored by Electroluxto make one course of steak, one course of dessert and one course creative dish in a prescribe period of time. The excellent skills and the good taste of the dishes attracted many visitors stop to watch the competition.In the two days competition, 12 contestants from 4 teams used the same equipment but different ingredients to make different dishes in their own ways. Hotelex Cup Chef Championship is made to be an international competition in the Hotelex Shows. The competition teams were all the élites from high level hotels or restaurants. No doubt that they all have excellent skills but they all said that during the competition, they’ve got chance to know the equipment sponsored by Electrolux better and this helped them to make better menus

The award winners for this championship were: The Participation Award Winner is Asia Hotel; The Technique Award Winner is Yangtze Hotel; the creative award winner is East Lake Hotel and the comprehensive award winner is Ramada Plaza Optics Valley Hotel. The guests for presenting the awards were, Ms. Hui Jingwen from Electrolux Shanghai, Mr. Chang Jiangming, the Secretary of Wuhan F&B Association, Mr. Wang Lili, the Secretary of Hubei Tourism Association and Ms. Katie Zhang, the Senior Project Director of Shanghai CMP Sinoexpo International Exhibition Co., Ltd. The prizes for the participation, technique and creative awards were sponsored by Electrolux. The comprehensive award winners got a round trip air tickets and accommodations to Hotelex Shanghai 2009 and also won the qualifications to the final of Hotelx Cup Chef Championship.
